Hybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the Warren, Michigan three times per week, at minimum.
The Role
The passion to be a trusted advisor and strategic HR partner in the amazing world of GM’s Software & Services Embedded Platform Engineering organization is key for success. In this role as an integral member of the Global S&S EPE HR team, you will have full ownership & responsibility for partnering with a global, business-critical client group to execute the organization and talent strategy in alignment with GM’s objectives, mission & culture. You will partner to shape, deliver and continuously improve HR solutions that drive business outcomes, build technical capabilities and strengthen employee engagement. A proven ability to lead change, collaborate across organizational boundaries and effectively drive results in a transformative, fast-paced environment will be key enablers to success in this role.
What You’ll Do- Partner with executives and functional HR leaders to define and lead core HR initiatives within your area of responsibility such as performance management, talent management and organizational design
- Provide world-class HR guidance driving solutions that are in the best interest of both the company and employees.
- Promote positive employee relations through identifying trends, evaluating data, and leveraging employee feedback through engagement mechanisms-including partnership with business leaders on Workplace of Choice
- Ensure data integrity in HRIS (Workday) systems, daily maintenance of HRIS systems and act as the main point of contact for HR system support in your area of responsibility
- Partner with HR Centers of Excellence to identify key changes/updates/trainings, provide feedback and support the facilitation of these initiatives in your area of responsibility
- Be a leader in change management. Advocate and guide your team through cultural and industry change that is critical to the future success of GM.
- You have strong knowledge of your business organization’s work and GM's brands, company, function, and products.
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related discipline
- 2+ years of experience in Human Resources
- 1+ years of experience in a field Human Resources position
- Strong interpersonal skills in facilitation, partnership and conflict resolution
- Managerial courage demonstrated through effective, direct, and respectful communication
- Ensure confidentiality of sensitive information is maintained
- Must be proficient in use of HR systems (Workday, Workforce360, Cognos)
- Excellent computer skills, including advanced use of Microsoft Office suite
- Experience managing leaves of absence, including FMLA, Short term Disability, Long term Disability, International Assignments, compensation programs
What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)- Highly proficient in Workday
- Master’s degree preferred
