2021 Recap and Looking Forward to 2022

As we close out 2021 and prepare for 2022, I would like to thank all our Asian Pacific American Chamber of Commerce members, strategic partners, sponsors, and friends for being a part of our wide network. This year, APACC celebrated our 20 years of facilitating business relationships among Asian-owned and U.S.-based companies and promoting the economic advancement of the Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI). Businesses owned by Asian Americans from China, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, the Philippines, India among other countries; Fortune 500 corporations; entrepreneurs; business professionals; cultural organizations and associations; and political and government dignitaries have supported APACC throughout the years and are the reason for our success. Thank you for all you do in support of APACC and the AAPI business community.

We have helped our network, members, and the AAPI business community navigate through COVID shutdowns, apply for PPP, and provide virtual resources and networking opportunities. The community came together to stand up against Asian Hate Crimes and looked to APACC for leadership.

Thanks to the partnership with General Motors, APACC has been able to provide AAPI small businesses and individual professionals with access to free APACC membership, network, resources, and programming. At the same time, APACC introduced the Small Business Action Committee, charged with the task of developing a variety of value-added educational opportunities for small business APACC members.

The guidance, support, and encouragement of the APACC Board of Directors have been instrumental during these difficult times. This year we welcomed two new board members, Dr. Anne Chen, M.D., Chief of Medicine at Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital, and Tim Ha, Chief Investment Officer at First Independence Bank. The knowledge, experience, and network they bring to the board will help APACC move forward and provide higher value to our members.

Thank you to Leonie Teichman for making sure APACC functions as we continue to provide virtual events and value to our members and network.

There is a lot to look forward to in 2022. We kick off the new year with Neighborly Networking in partner with the Livonia Chamber of Commerce, Novi Chamber of Commerce, and the Greater Farmington Area Chamber. Come expand your network with Neighborly Networking!

The 19th Annual East-West Business Connection will be an in-person event on Thursday, March 3rd, 2022! Register now and use the Special Holiday Discount code: EWHS2022

APACC's 21st Annual Gala is back in-person on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at MGM Grand Detroit! Sponsorship is available.

Before the year concludes, please join us for APACC's Virtual Holiday Happy Hour! Make your favorite cocktail, relax, and join us for networking, trivia questions, and great prizes on Wednesday, December 15, 2021.

The Asian Pacific American Chamber of Commerce wishes you a very merry holiday season, and may your new year be prosperous, beautiful, and bright!

    Best wishes,
    Duc Nguyen Abrahamson
    Executive Director
