    Job Description

    As a member of the Purchasing team, the Purchasing Manager will be responsible for managing purchasing and negotiating of steel raw material and supply from vendors for North America. The Purchasing Manager will handle cost-effective procurement and delivery of material required to support plant and customer requirements. The Purchasing Manager will also be responsible to supervise department personnel.

    Position Focus:

    • Provide direct oversight and ensure execution of strategic purchasing initiatives
    • Analyze market trends and negotiate contracts
    • Build and maintain supplier and internal cross-functional relationships

    The Role:

    Your work will include, but not be limited to:
    • Manage North American raw steel commodity purchases
    • Negotiate and manage material economics on a YOY basis
    • Track pricing and report out market movement
    • Test global markets to ensure the most favorable value chain for each global region
    • Participate in early development of new product designs to drive most competitive price
    • Leads development and implementation of cost saving programs
    • Manages sourcing selection of material with best-in-class cost and quality
    • Develops strategies to achieve current and long-term results
    • Has familiarity with commercial terms and total cost management concepts
    • Ability to work in a highly productive, constantly changing environment

    Your Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in related field
    • Requires minimum of 10 years work experience.
    • Automotive cross-functional experience is recommended.
    Bonus if you have:
    • MBA degree
    • Advanced Certifications, i.e. CPP or CPSM
