    Work Arrangement:  This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the GM Global Technical center in Warren, MI on a full-time basis. 

    The Role:

    General Motors is seeking a qualified Software Engineer (Test), individual contributor who has knowledge and understanding of all aspects of the function and exercises independent discretion and judgment on significant matters based on professional knowledge.

    You will be responsible for defining, implementing, executing, and maintaining test plans, test cases and test automation tools/scripts to ensure software is delivered with high quality. You will review requirements, specifications and design documents, to better understand the features.  You will also help analyze the requirements so that better and simpler designs can be created to meet the requirements.  You will design, execute and automate efficient test cases to cover the requirements.  As a software engineer, you will ensure that all the test cases are automated and running under a continuous testing pipeline. This role will work closely with software development teams, SCM teams, requirement teams and program managers during the entire product lifecycle .

    What You'll Do (Responsibilities)

    • Responsible for executing both manual and automated test scripts to verify Infotainment functional and performance requirements on GM’s infotainment platform.
    • Configure benches to support specific test scenarios.
    • Characterize and document defects including identifying steps to reproduce, linking failures to requirements, and collecting all associated test logs.
    • Develop and Update test cases as required.
    • Support automation activities by implementing new scripts that will ensure robust features and interfaces.
    • Interact with multiple engineering fields within the Software Defined Vehicle team to support defect resolution.
    • Manage weekly build promotion including Sanity test planning, critical issue escalation and develop response to additional test requests.
    • Coordinate test assignments for a large multi-functional team to ensure that all test requirements are met.
    • Verify operation of Infotainment features that function on CAN, Ethernet and LIN communication protocols
    • Provide regular status updates and complete documentation and test results
    • Perform Diagnostics, Partial Network and DPS Calibration testing
