Position Summary
Under general supervision, gathers and analyzes credit information on current and potential borrowers; determines the advisability of granting credit for diversified types of loans; works with loan officers to ensure loan files are complete prior to review; prepares spreadsheets, reports, summaries and opinions for financial institution officers on new, renewal and existing loans.
Essential Functions- Provides accurate information and sound judgments on the credit worthiness of assigned accounts to aid Commercial Loan Officers of the Bank Lending Department in granting loans.
- Provides sound and adequate technical advice to Bank Officers relating to credit analysis through gathering and evaluation of data.
- Generate financial ratios, using computer programs, to evaluate customers' financial status.
- Compiles and analyzes data for specialized projects and makes recommendations which are meaningful and accurate on selection of prospective customers for specific financing programs.
- Prepares commercial loan presentations for credit committee and board of directors’ meetings.
- Assists the Senior Credit Manager in the review of commercial loan files following the closing of all loans.
- Prepares and follows up on all guaranteed loan applications.
- Gathers financial statements and inputs information into Union Bank summary financial forms.
- Accompanies Commercial Loan Officers on calls when necessary.
- Performs required floor plan and inventory checks.
- Assists in organizing commercial loan files and maintaining accuracy of all documentation and tracking reports.
- Assists the Senior Credit Manager in the assigning of grades to all commercial loan customers.
- Modifies existing commercial presentation and credit review sheets to include more relevant and pertinent information.
- Monitors covenants for loan relationships, including borrowing bases.
- Assists in the monitoring of loan maturity reports.
- Completes monthly and quarterly reports and assists with the completion of action plans as assigned.
- Performs / assists with the daily maintenance and posting of data (loan input) in order to maintain the integrity of the Loan Portfolio data.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Adhere and comply with all Bank Policies.
- Familiar with and abides by all bank regulations including but not limited to BSA and OFAC.
- Stationed at desk 95% of working time.
- No specific hazards.
- No unusual physical exertion required.
Job Qualifications- Excellent written, verbal and analytical skills.
- Ability to maintain confidential information.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
- Prior experience in a lending environment is preferred; agricultural business knowledge a plus.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Finance, Business Administration or Accounting or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 6 months experience in accounting, finance or relevant work experience.
