Welcome to Solarize Oakland County!

Solarize is a community-based program that provides free, reliable information and makes solar power more affordable. Solarize OC is a partnership between the Oakland County Office of Sustainability and the non-profit Great Lakes Renewable Energy Association.

What is Solarize Oakland County?
An emblem that shows the sun rising over a hill and says "Solarize Oakland County."Solarize OC is a series of educational events that brings together community members, solar experts, and qualified solar contractors. Events are open to all Oakland County homeowners, businesses, non-profits, houses of worship, and local governments.

• Learn about solar: Attendees will leave with a better understanding of how solar energy works, what it takes to go solar, and the funding resources available.
• Connect with your community: Meet neighbors, community leaders, solar experts, and vetted installers.
• Invest in energy independence: Save money long-term and protect yourself against rising energy costs. Businesses, non-profits, and houses of worship can take advantage of limited time 30% tax credits.
• Be part of positive environmental change: Be a leader in the renewable energy transition and create a positive impact on the planet. 

Each event will cover the basics of how solar technology works, costs, benefits, and your potential savings. There will be a Q&A with solar experts, and resources for taking the next steps. This is an educational event with no sales pressure.

After the event, interested participants can get quotes, do further research, and make a decision. A bulk-buy discount between 5-15% will be applied to all attendees who go solar.
