As the Director - Head of North America for Diversity Supplier Development, Bruno Alejandro Olvera Diaz manages diversity supplier development strategies for Purchasing Organization in all business categories. Works proactively with internal business partners to identify potential business opportunities. He leads a team of diversity supplier development program managers to accomplish all diversity supplier development related goals and initiatives. Bruno is the President of Latins in Connection Business Resource Group and additionally, he is part of the leadership council for internal leadership development programs, a recruiting team member, BRG member and an active mentor/mentee.
Olvera Diaz started at Stellantis in June 2011 as part of the Company’s fast-track Purchasing and Supplier Quality Leadership Development Program. He successfully completed the program in December 2013, after which he was assigned different North America and Global Senior Buyer, Purchasing Manager and Senior Manager roles. He has held leadership positions in Interior, Indirect and Electrical Purchasing respectively.
Olvera Diaz earned a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree of Business Administration from the University of Detroit Mercy, in 2011 and 2014, respectively. He is currently a member of the College of Business Administration Alumni Board and the Board of Advisors. He is the Chairman of the Veteran Owned Business Roundtable. Bruno also serves on the board of directors for the Michigan Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Canadian Aboriginal and Minority Supplier Council, City of Detroit Human Rights Commission, Detroit Hispanic Development Corporation, Boys Hope Girls Hope of Detroit, Cristo Rey High School and the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. He is part of the procurement committee with the National LGBT Chamber of Commerce, he also belongs to the Supplier Diversity Committee and Business Leadership Summit with the National Minority Supplier Development Council.
Throughout his career, Olvera Diaz has received prestigious awards. Most recently, Bruno was recognized by the National Minority Supplier Development Council as the 2025 Supplier Inclusion Leader of the Year, Detroit City FC Soccer Game Honorary Captain, 2024 40 under 40 by Crain’s Detroit Business, Top 25 Diversity Change Leader by Diversity Plus Magazine, Procurement Business Advocate by the Canadian Aboriginal and Minority Supplier Council, Presidents Award by the National Veteran Business Development Council and recognized as a Champion of Diversity by Automotive News. In 2023, he was recognized by Crain’s Detroit Business as a Notable Leader in Diversity, Equity & Inclusion and as Advocate of the Year by the National Veteran Business Development Council. In 2018, Olvera Diaz was recognized for his contributions in the Hispanic community by receiving the Professional & Community Leadership Excellence Award from the Michigan Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. In 2017, he received the Rising Star Award from the College of Business Administration at the University of Detroit Mercy. In 2016, he received the Young Hispanic Corporate Achiever award from the Hispanic Association on Corporate Responsibility (youngest awardee of 2016 class).
