• Duc Nguyen Abrahamson Named to Crain's Detroit Notable Women in Nonprofits List for 2022

    The Asian Pacific American Chamber of Commerce's (APACC) Executive Director Duc Nguyen Abrahamson has been named to the Crain's Detroit Notable Women In Nonprofits list for 2022.

    According to Crain's, this diverse group of women are leaders in service and their communities. They utilize their skills in leadership, finance, human resources, human service, fundraising, community development and more to champion their nonprofit’s mission and be fiscal stewards of donor funds. 

     
    The leaders featured in this report were nominated by their peers and selected by a team of Crain’s Detroit Business editors based on their accomplishments, track record of success, contributions to their community and mentorship.

    Duc has played a significant role in the COVID-19 pandemic, researching and identifying the Asian businesses that were affected by the shutdown and Asian Hate, she created virtual programming to help these enterprises to stabilize, survive, and thrive.

    "In my experience, Duc is one of the most hard-working and creative individuals in the nonprofit sector with whom I have worked," said APACC Board Chair Charley Meng, associate general counsel of Inteva Products LLC.

    Duc wears many hats. She is the spokesperson for APACC, which facilitates business relationships among Asian-owned and U.S.-based companies and promotes the economic advancement of Asian Pacific Americans. She also manages and evaluates programs and activities, provides leadership to the board and staff, allocates resources and develops organizational policy and programs.

    APACC's mission is to facilitate business relationships among Asian-owned and U.S.-based companies and to promote the economic advancement of Asian American Pacific Islanders. Known as the "gateway" to Asian and U.S. businesses, APACC was established in 2000 and is a non-for-profit membership association governed by a 20-member board of directors, APACC covers the entire state of Michigan, and is headquartered in Southeast Michigan.
