• Consumers Energy's Statement concerning increased violence toward Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders

Consumers Energy released a statement about the increasing attacks on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders:

"Attacks against Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders in Michigan and around the country have been escalating, a disturbing trend that we strongly condemn. The xenophobia, racism and violence leveled against the Asian American community runs counter to the values CMS Energy and Consumers Energy hold as a company. As we continue on our journey to fully embrace Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, taking a stand against racism is always the right decision.

It is also consistent with our values to encourage people to act when we know something is not right. We encourage all of our co-workers and people around the country to report crimes motivated by xenophobia and racism, whether they are a victim or if they are a witness. In Michigan, they can contact the Department of the Attorney General Hate Crimes Unit by phone at 313-456-0200 or by email at HateCrimes@michigan.gov. #StopAsianHate"
