• ADAS Functional Safety Engineer

    About this Position
    We are currently seeking an ADAS Functional Safety Engineer to lead project functional safety activities throughout the product development cycle. This position is located in our Troy, MI office.

    Responsibilities and Duties

    • Analyze Functional Safety Requirements to develop Technical Safety Concept and Technical Safety Requirements, in collaboration with engineering competencies
    • Develop safety architectures in accordance with ISO26262
    • Plan and coordinate project functional safety activities
    • Develop and maintain the safety plan; monitor safety activities according to the plan
    • Analyze customer requirements
    • Lead safety analyses FMEDA, FTA
    • Specify detailed safety requirements, including diagnostic, software and Hardware requirements
    • Ensure the System safety requirements are implemented, and traced in Software and Hardware with linkage to appropriate safety analysis, Design Artifacts, Validation artifacts,
    • Collaborate with project managers, development team, suppliers and customers on Functional Safety
    • Coordinate confirmation/verification reviews with product teams to ensure functional safety standards are being met throughout product development cycle
    • Plan and coordinate Audit and Assessments with the product teams

    Need to Haves (Basic Qualifications)
    • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering or relevant field
    • Minimum 3+ years of relevant work experience in the following:
      • Application of the ISO 26262 Standard in a
      • System reliability analysis: FMEA, FMEDA, FTA
      • Architecture and Systems Engineering
      • Requirements analysis
    • Knowledge of Requirements Management and tools ( e.g., Polarion, DOORS )
    • Proven record of taking customer requirements from design to production
    • Familiarity with DSP algorithms, Microprocessor/DSP based hardware designs, and Software Architecture

    Nice to Haves (Preferred Qualifications)
    • Engineering Master’s or PhD Degree preferred
    • Design of Active or Passive Safety Systems
    • Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering
    • Experience with Medini Analyze
    • Familiarity with Microprocessor/DSP based hardware designs, and Software Architecture
    • Familiarity with development in the embedded environment
