    The 2021 Clean Air Supply Chain/Materials Intern Position (Summer Term) opportunity is located at our Manufacturing Facility in Lansing, Michigan.

    The primary focus of the Clean Air Supply Chain/Materials Intern opportunity is to provide hands-on learning and real world experience to students interested in a career in Supply Chain Management. By developing product knowledge, problem solving, and technical support, students participating in Tenneco's Clean Air Materials Internship provide invaluable assistance to Tenneco's materials and manufacturing community while mentoring with a current Tenneco leader as well as learning additional hands on skills on the manufacturing floor.

    MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
    Assist full time materials manager in their day to day activities. Depending on area of study, work can include, but is not limited to:

    • Implement forecasting and supply planning process improvements
    • Assist with the supervising and coordination of the activities of all department employees such as analyzing staffing requirements, scheduling personnel, teaching technical processes, ensuring workload and needs of customers are met, identifying and eliminating safety concerns, developing a plan to improve quality and output within the departments, and participating in 5S (Lean) activities
