Senior Research Coordinator (Infectious Disease) - Detroit, MI
Works independently following established policies and procedures. In addition to performing duties as described in the job description of Research Coordinator, responsible for the following: designing and conducting scientific research experiments; collecting and analyzing data using various methodologies and providing interpretation of the results; developing new methodologies by keeping up-to-date with the literature and research laboratory technology; preparing data for incorporation into publications and for use in laboratory procedures. Serves as an author on publications and scientific presentations and posters. Acts as a project leader and resource person for personnel related matters. Responsible for training laboratory personnel and research trainees (predoctoral, postdoctoral and visiting scholars) in new methodologies for experimental design and data analysis.
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry or a closely related field. Master's Degree or Ph.D., preferred.
- At least three (3) years with a Ph.D., five (5) years with a master's degree, and seven (7) or more years with a bachelor's degree of laboratory research experience in the scientific field pertinent to the area of research conducted.
- Working knowledge of statistics, computer programming and research methodologies.
