    The Mobile Outreach Clinician will help to engage individuals who are experiencing homelessness, mental illness, and/or substance use disorders using Motivational Interviewing while working alongside other professionals as part of the Grand Rapids Homeless Outreach Team (HOT). They will also provide crisis intervention and assessments to help link consumers to needed services and supports. Other tasks may include linking consumers to housing resources, employment opportunities, food, medical services, and other basic needs.
     
    The Mobile Outreach Clinician will be a part of the Grand Rapids Homeless Outreach Team (HOT), a team focused on the holistic needs of the city’s homeless population. The team responds together to assist with community needs focusing on engagement and jail diversion. The team consists of a police officers, firefighters, Recovery Coaches, and Clinical Specialists. The team works in the community in areas like the Heartside District, Michigan/Fuller, Burton/Division, and other locations where individuals experiencing homelessness live and congregate. HOT is a problem-solving team that helps to engage, educate, and link homeless individuals to community resources.
     
    The starting wage for this position is $25.57 per hour. This is a time limited position ending on August 31, 2022.
     
    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Master’s degree in Social Work or Psychology, Counseling or Counseling Psychology
    • Limited or full licensure in the State of Michigan as a licensed master social worker, professional counselor, marriage and family therapist, or psychologist, OR have successfully completed a master’s level internship with the Network180 Access Center, be eligible for a limited license as stated above, and obtain that licensure within 3 months of hire.
    • Possession of a valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation for job related use
    • Thorough working knowledge of the practices and principles of psychological, emotional, and sociological assessment and diagnosis
    • Thorough working knowledge of professional ethics and standards of practice
    • Lived experiences with mental illness/developmental disabilities/substance use disorders valued
    • Computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, email, database management, and data entry skills
    • Demonstrated experience communicating clearly and concisely in stressful situations
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
    • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment and skills and capabilities of bridging language/cultural barriers to Network180 services within diverse communities
     
    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Full Licensure in the State of Michigan as a licensed master social worker, professional counselor, marriage and family therapist, or psychologist
    • Specialized training and at least one year of experience in the examination, evaluation, and treatment of minors and their families
    • Spanish speaking
    • Credentialed through the Michigan Certificate Board for Addiction Professionals
    • Three years post graduate experience
