Nature of WorkThe purpose of this job is to perform preventive maintenance, inspection and repairs to heavy equipment with a variety of gasoline and diesel engines. Responsible for preparing work orders and the requisition of parts and equipment for repair.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESThe intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by employees in this job. Employees may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description.
- Diagnoses and repairs trucks and equipment
- Performs all necessary repairs to maintain the fleet
- Orders the correct parts to repair units
- Documents equipment or truck repairs and repaired times electronically
- Provides preventative maintenance services of all heavy equipment
- Looks up and requests parts as needed
- Keeps and maintains a clean work environment
- Performs related work as required
Posted until filled. First review of applications will occur on May 24, 2023.- High school diploma (or GED equivalent) with training in automotive/heavy equipment/light equipment, gasoline or diesel engine repairs
- At least two (2) years of experience performing automotive/heavy equipment/small engine mechanical repair and maintenance; and/or state certifications
- Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities
Possession of a valid Michigan Commercial Driver's License, Class A with an N Endorsement OR the ability to obtain one within the six (6) month probationary period.THIS IS A SAFETY-SENSITIVE POSITION SUBJECT TO THE DEPT OF TRANSPORTATION (DOT) RANDOM DRUG & ALCOHOL TESTING PROGRAM.
