    Job Description

    This position is part of our Advanced Safety & User Experience segment out of Troy, MI.

    The role of an Senior Engineering Financial Analyst is to provide engineering business oversight and guidance to their respective Engineering Directors, Product Lines, etc. This role includes analysis of changing business conditions, a thorough understanding of the Product Line's business, and development and communication of observations and recommendations. Effective achievement of this role includes development and analysis of engineering expense Budgets, Business Plans, Forecasts, and Actual results. The Senior Engineering Financial Analyst will be involved in the entire Life Cycle.


    • Lead development of the engineering business plan/Budget
    • Maintain project resource consumption reporting and analysis
    • Provide monthly engineering resource forecasts and reports with performance analysis; Define business risks & opportunities. Provide suggestions for improvement/reductions
    • Support Global Engineering Directors with short term and long term strategy planning
    • Maintain databases required to provide engineering spending reporting capabilities (SAP, Planview, SharePoint Sites, etc.)
    • Provide leadership and direction to ensure the project actual costs are accurately reflected
    • Manage the NRE and prototype credit processes to ensure credits are correctly realized
    • Manage engineering project creation/maintenance while working closely with the Portfolio and Product Line
    • Conduct various analyses and studies as required to improve budget and forecasting effort
    • Develop process, track and obtain approval to capitalize embedded software and NRE
    • Complete various HQ reporting variance requests

    Must Haves (Basic Qualifications):
    • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting required
    • 7+ years of financial analysis experience
    • 2+ years of SAP experience required
    • Planview experience a plus

    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Masters degree in Finance or Accounting
    • 10+ years of financial analysis experience
    • CPA preferred
    • Effective communication skills (written & verbal)
    • Understanding of accounting processes, procedure and internal controls
    • Strong research and analysis skills
    • Ability to adapt quickly and learn new tasks independently
    • Excellent organization skills
    • Ability to manage competing priorities
    • Ability to generate creative ideas to improve performance
