• Senior Engineer - Advance Body

    The Advanced Concepts Engineering (ACE) group is responsible for vehicle architecture, vehicle packaging and integration of systems and component designs. In addition, the team resolves packaging and adaptation issues as the vehicles move toward production. The Advance Concepts Design Engineer is responsible for designing and developing new vehicle bodies which meet future regulatory requirements and competitive customer requirements. The Engineer’s responsibilities include: establishing physical and functional integration of vehicles and systems during the program planning phase (concept to program approval), translating strategic and functional objectives into technical requirements, creating and analyzing alternative design concepts, packaging and integrating systems and components and benchmarking of competitive vehicles.

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineer or equivalent from an ABET accredited or equivalent program
    • Five years of experience in one or more of the following areas: body in-white, closures or exterior design and development; some experience during early phases of program
    • Experience in the design, development or manufacturing of aluminum or other advanced lightweight metals in BIW or closures
    • Proficient in Teamcenter and VisPro; ability to position and manipulate models, cut sections, take dimensions and create sessions to lead design reviews
    • Proficient in manipulating existing CAD models and geometry in NX; ability to create 2D geometry in sketcher to illustrate ideas
    • Excellent MS Office skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Ability to lead others and productively manage change; deal with conflicting requirements and balance competing objectives
    • Ability to present ideas and concepts successfully to all levels of management
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university
    • Broad vehicle knowledge
    • Ability to create 3D geometry in NX
