Equalization Clerk - Pontiac, MI
Under limited supervision, performs calculations and checks appraiser field sheets on commercial and residential land parcels before submitting them to Information Technology. Draws sketches from appraiser drafts of a variety of land and building plots for value assessment and taxation purposes. Assists appraisers in setting of assessed values on County property due to splits and combinations of parcel descriptions, using set assessment values, square footage figures and other departmental procedures. Assists to update information in various computer systems used by the division, arranging and preparing data for input. Utilizes current county-wide and/or department specific software to complete assignments.
Minimum Qualifications1. Be a high school graduate OR have a certificate of successful completion of the General Education Development (GED) Test.
2. Have had at least two (2) years of full-time customer service experience assisting the public, and using computer software programs.
NOTE: An Associate's degree or sixty (60) semester credit hours from an accredited college or university may substitute for the experience requirement in 2. above.
3. Pass the complete examination, including the employment medical established for this classification.
4. Successfully complete the six (6) month probationary period.
