The US Army is celebrating Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month and you are cordially invited to #MeetYourArmy! Please join us for a virtual discussion with Maj. Gen. Viet X. Luong, Commander, US Army Japan, on Monday, May 17 at 7 pm EDT on Facebook Live.
The first Vietnamese-born general flag officer, Maj. Gen. Luong will share insights and experiences from his career. As commander of US Army Japan, Maj. Gen. Luong balances overseeing the readiness of Soldiers and Army personnel assigned in the area, with maintaining relationships with the host nation and communities where Army garrisons are located. This is a great opportunity for civilian audiences to learn about the Army’s work around the world, and the people who make up our Army.
