With a population of nearly 1.4 billion, India has become the world’s sixth largest economy with a GDP of $2.66 trillion. According to Moody’s, the nation’s economy will rise 9.5% this year and 8.4% in 2023 as it recovers from the pandemic plaguing the entire global economy since 2019. A recent report by the World Bank notes that India jumped 15 spots (from 77 to 62) in ease of doing business among 190 countries worldwide. With a growing middle-class of 300-350 million consumers, the nation has a high demand for U.S.-made products, services and technologies. India also provides U.S. companies interested in reconfiguring or expanding their global supply chains a highly skilled, low-cost labor pool. As a result of these factors, India is forecasted to be the world's fastest growing large economy into the foreseeable future.
