SUMMARY:Small Business Summit - State of Michigan
DESCRIPTION:As we emerge from the pandemic together\, our future looks bright. Over the coming months\, we expect strong economic growth\, bolstered by a $3.5 billion budget surplus and billions more in federal aid. Together\, we can uplift families and small businesses\, which are the lifeblood of our communities. I invite you to join me and Lt. Governor Garlin Gilchrist II on Wednesday\, June 23 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (EDT) we will bring together small businesses\, state and local policymakers\, regional economic development leaders\, banks and credit unions\, business owners and community organizations for a one-day\, virtual summit focused on helping small business thrive here in Michigan.\n\n\n\nThe summit will include updates from key economic experts\, including Gene Sperling\, a Senior Advisor to President Biden and the White House American Rescue Plan coordinator. We will also engage in strategic conversations around how we can provide meaningful support to ensure our small businesses are successful and that local entrepreneurs are supported as our recovery picks up steam.\n\n\n\nThe insights and outcomes of this summit will ensure Michigan has the most effective policies and programs in place to deploy the critical federal resources we have available to us from $176 million in State Small Business Credit Initiative (SSBCI) funding to nearly $6.5 billion in flexible funding through the American Rescue Plan.
