Nand Kochhar was appointed Global Safety Systems Chief Engineer, Ford Motor Company on March 1, 2013. He is also Executive Technical Leader, Simulation and a member of Technology Advisory Board, Chaired by Chief Technical Officer.

Prior to this, he held the position of Chief Engineer, Materials engineering & Standards.

Since joining the company in 1990 as a Design Engineer, he went on to hold several positions of increasing responsibility including Chief Engineer, Vehicle Engineering and Chief Engineer, CAE & Durability Engineering. Kochhar was also Platform Vehicle Engineering Manager for F-Series Super Duty Truck, and prior to that he served in Ford of Germany. He was responsible for CAD/CAM/CAE/PLM (C3P) implementation and the launch of the award-winning Ford Mondeo as a Chassis Manager in Europe.

Nand is the President of Ford Asian Indian Association (FAIA), a key employee resource group supported by the Ford Diversity and Inclusion initiative. He is the Ford representative on the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) Motor Vehicle Council.

Nand graduated from University of Missouri (UMR) with a Master’s degree in Engineering. He was inducted as a member of the Academy of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineers at UMR in 2005.

He lives in Northville, Michigan with his wife and two kids.
